Biography:

My passion for music started as a kid growing up listening to classic soul and jazz funk. At the age of 15, I was listening to bands such as Hi Tension, Atmosphere, Blackbyrds, Brass Construction, Light of the World and many, many more.

I took my influences to a six form college, where I met like minded people in order to form my first proper band called ‘The Collective’. Members of the band are people with whom I am still involved musically today - Daniel Vacchio (aka Vaceo) on drums, Michael Waterhouse on guitar, Greg Kaighin on keys, Nikki Kramer on vocals and Dominic Stanton on turntables. All of these people have performed on various Domu/Rima/Bakura productions.

After the band finished, I got into Djing and promoting. Domu and I started a club night in Bedford called ‘Cross the Tracks’, which ran for over 5 years playing soul, funk, hip hop & broken beats. The club night brought in guests such as MCM, Bugz in the Attic and 4-Hero.

During this time I appeared on 2 tracks on the first Sonar Circle album “Radius” released on Reinforced Records.

From this, I got a taste of music production and was shown the ropes by Domu. My skills were developed when Domu and I collaborated to form Bakura releasing our first 12” “Reach the Sky” on Especial Records. This developed into an album and a DJ tour of Japan.

At present Domu and I have got a band together in order to play all Bakura tracks live and hopefully we will see the band in action very soon!

I’m now continuing to work on my DJ Marin project, working with different vocalists and musicians.
