Yeh man i've been hammering "Tale Spinnin'" again recently. That harmony-shifting section from around 2mins 50 on the first track is so good it makes me feel ill! + Freezing Fire (track 5)- WOW.. mEnTaL synth solo

Yes top album - and my personal favourite from Weather Report. When I heard Nubian Sundance, I couldn't stop playing it. Side 2 quite haunting especially Scarlet Woman. You may be right about the line up with Alphonso Johnson. Jaco Pastorius does the fretless bass thing like a guitar-listen to the live album 8.30

I recommend Tale Spinning and Sweetnighter for more Miroslav Vitous and Alphonso Johnson playing.

I bought many WR albums to sample at first, but certain ones are great to listen to. This is a tip top one and you don't see it around as much as Heavy Weather or Black Market. Big sample on their is the title track as used on T-Loves underground hip-hop classic "Im Comin".
